1. GMUN

Gaurs Model United Nations (MUN) is an initiative by the school to enable the students to learn to research, analyse complex global issues, and formulate persuasive arguments. It will have a profound impact on children as it poses to enhance their critical thinking and public speaking skills. It aims to provide a platform for children to engage in diplomatic discussions and negotiate solutions to real-world problems which in turn will foster their understanding of global affairs, cultural diversity, and the importance of international cooperation.

Participation in MUN cultivates leadership qualities in children as they take on roles of delegates, chairpersons, or organizers. They learn to collaborate with peers, build consensus, and effectively communicate their ideas in a diplomatic manner. They learn to appreciate diverse viewpoints and find common ground through dialogue and compromise. Lastly, MUN club offers children an opportunity to develop their confidence and self- assurance. By engaging in public speaking, debating, and representing their assigned country, they become more comfortable expressing their ideas in front of an audience, honing their communication skills for future success.

2. MENTAL HEALTH AMBASSADORS

Students are more likely to approach their peers for support and advice. By training students as Mental Health Ambassadors, GIS, Greater Noida intends to create a network of peer support where students feel comfortable reaching out to their fellow students. This can help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage open discussions about mental well-being. The students will play a crucial role in raising awareness about mental health issues among students thereby contributing to a more informed and empathetic school community where students feel safe seeking help without fear of judgment or discrimination.

By actively engaging in mental health advocacy, students develop a sense of purpose, empathy, and self-confidence, which can contribute to their own mental well-being. 3. HINDI / SANSKRIT CLASS MAGAZINE

Hindi is not only a language but also a crucial part of the Indian cultural identity. By introducing Hindi/Sanskrit Class Magazine, the school endeavours to demonstrate respect for Indian traditions and values. It will foster a stronger bond with the readers, as they feel a connection to the content and the organization behind it. 4. NUKKAD NATAK

Through Street plays the school endeavours to address important social issues, historical events, cultural traditions, or environmental concerns. Children will learn about these topics in an engaging and interactive way, making the learning experience more enjoyable and memorable. Street plays will provide children with an immersive and experiential form of learning. They witness the live performances, interact with actors, and observe the reactions of the audience. The school plans to have a Green Brigade through a collaboration with the Blue Planet. Class Coffee is a novel idea which will provide an opportunity for parents and school staff to interact in a relaxed setting. Building strong relationships can enhance communication and collaboration, leading to better support for students. It will encourage parents to actively participate in their child's education. 8. ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION

The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony being organised for the first time this year will serve as a platform to acknowledge and appreciate the achievements and efforts of students in academics. Winning a prize provides students with a sense of accomplishment and recognition for their hard work, motivating them to continue excelling in their respective areas. The prospect of receiving a prize encourages students to set goals and work towards achieving them. Platform for Healthy Competition: The school aims to ensure the participation of students in CBSE Cluster Sports Meet this year as it will provide a platform for students to engage in healthy competition with their peers from different schools. It encourages them to push their limits, improve their skills, and strive for excellence in sports. Participation in the sports meet encourages them to engage in regular physical activity, develop sportsmanship, and adopt a healthy lifestyle.

CBSE Cluster Sports Meet will provide an opportunity for students to develop and showcase their sports skills. Music, dance, and art Inter School Competitions will provide a platform for students to showcase their creativity and express themselves through various art forms. 11. BAGLESS DAYS

GIS observed its first Bagless Day on Monday, 3 rd July 2023 to encourage students to participate in various activities that promote active learning, such as group discussions, art, dance, music, outdoor games, or workshops. These activities enhanced engagement, creativity, and critical thinking skills among students. The workshops on Cyber Bullying and Mental Health were welcomed by students and parents alike.

It created an environment where students could freely communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with their peers, contributing to a more inclusive and connected school community. Students engaged in sports, outdoor games, or physical education sessions, promoting a healthier and more active lifestyle.

12. DEBATING & QUIZ CLUB

The school also intends to start a Debating and Quiz club to encourage students to think critically and analytically. They develop the ability to examine and evaluate information, arguments, and evidence. It also helps them develop research skills, learn how to find reliable sources, and expand their knowledge base. It also encourages them to stay updated on current events and explore new areas of interest. This skill is valuable for academic success and helps students become more discerning and logical thinkers.

Debating clubs provide opportunities for students to improve their oral communication skills. 13. READING BUDDIES PROGRAMME (I-V) & BOOK CLUB (VI-VIII)

Reading Buddies Programme and Book Club will also be introduced this year to expand the reading repertoire by exposing students to a wide range of literary genres, authors, and themes. Reading books that you might not have chosen on your own broadens your reading horizons and introduces you to new perspectives and ideas.

The students will engage in discussions about books which stimulates the mind and encourages critical thinking. Analysing the plot, characters, and themes of the books helps develop analytical and interpretive skills, enhancing overall intellectual capacity. Reading Comprehension: Newspapers in Education will continue to be a part of the school this year as well. Peer workshops were started till Grade II this year which helped the school to create a platform for participants to share their knowledge and expertise. Alumni association will be put into place this year to provide a platform for networking among former students. SPIC MACAY will be introduced this year with an aim to expose students to the rich heritage and diversity of Indian classical music, dance forms, and cultural traditions. By organizing performances, workshops, and interactions with renowned artists, SPIC MACAY provides an immersive cultural experience that expands students' understanding and appreciation of Indian arts and traditions. By promoting Indian classical music and cultural forms, SPIC MACAY plays a crucial role in preserving and safeguarding the country's traditional heritage.

Through exposure to these art forms, students develop an understanding of their historical significance, contributing to the preservation and continuation of India's cultural legacy. Integrating SPIC MACAY activities into the school curriculum enhances the holistic development of students. School Cinema is a first-of-its-kind program in the world that has introduced film pedagogy to schools.
