Annual Day Utsav Agni Season II
On the glorious evening of 2nd December 2018, Gaurs International School celebrated its Second Annual Day 'Utsav Agni : Season II'. The soiree was a mesmerizing tribute to spiritual values and innovative thought, traditional heritage and modern perspectives, through an amalgamation of dance, music, theatre and art. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Brigadier S.P. Sinha, Group Commander, NCC. Other Guests of Honour included eminent dignitaries Tisca Chopra - Indian actress and author; Mr. Gurcharan Singh - Dronacharya Awardee Cricket Coach; Mr. Madan Lal - Arjuna awardee former test cricket player; Mr. S.C. Arora -Vice Chairman of LPS Global School; and Mrs. Lata Vaidyanathan - veteran educationist and former Principal of Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Founder Chairman of Gaurs International School Mr. B. L. Gaur, Managing Director of Gaursons India Pvt. Ltd. and Mrs. Manju Gaur, Director of Gaurs International School also graced the occasion.
The event saw the participation of 2200 students of Gaurs International School and 230 children studying at the evening school, which is Mrs. Manju Gaur's initiative towards the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padao' movement. The event commenced with the recitation of shlokas followed by dances from across the globe. The audience toured through different Indian states as the children depicted the myriad festivals celebrated in our country. The members of the management shared their vision of the future of Gaurs group of schools. This vision, rising out of the past and striding forward to the future armed with skills and values, matched the next performance, a theatrical reenactment of Abhimanyu Vadh from the Mahabharata. A tribute to Michael Jackson lit the stage on fire and was followed by a mime act encouraging the members of the audience to see, hear, speak and tolerate no evil. The Art-n-Craft and Sculpture departments unveiled their masterpieces on stage and via an exhibition. The program culminated with an exuberant orchestra and enlightening sufi vocal extravaganza.
