World Sight Day

 Illuminating Vision for a Brighter Tomorrow - World Sight Day at Gaurs International School, Siddharth Vihar 

To empower our students with the knowledge and valuable insights on maintaining good eye health , Dr. Vikas Veerwal, an eminent ophthalmologist graced us with his wisdom on 12 October 2023 , World Sight Day.

The school also had the privilege of embracing the spirit of World Sight Day by hosting an Eye Checkup Camp in collaboration with Centre for Sight that opened the doors to a clearer, brighter world! 

The motive behind this was to emphasize the paramount importance of good vision in every student's journey. Through this camp, we set out to raise awareness, promote eye health and academic success as by nurturing good vision, we empower our students to thrive academically, supporting their educational journey.

Heartfelt gratitude to Dr Veerwal for sharing insights into his roles and responsibilities - how the ophthalmologists handle all the medical aspects of eye care , including treatment , surgery and the prescription of contact lenses and glasses. He encouraged students to adopt healthy lifestyle choices to ensure that they have a good vision always. He also talked about problems that screens are known to cause in children - blurriness , visual fatigue and dry eyes. He successfully addressed the related queries and concerns of the students. He highlighted the acceptable level of screen time , everything in line with the SDG 3 - Good Health and Well Being.
