National Mango Day
Today , on National Mango Day, our Gaurians of Class Nursery enjoyed a delightful celebration dedicated to the mango. Their learning facilitators began by explaining the importance of mangoes, highlighting their rich content of vitamins A and C, essential for good health. They discussed how mangoes are loved worldwide and hold a special place in many cultures. To make the lesson engaging, they introduced various raw mango, ripe mango and mango products like mango juice, mango ice cream, aam panna, mango pickle, and mango-flavored candies. Each item was shown to the students, emphasizing its unique qualities and taste.
For an interactive twist, the teachers organized a Smell and Guess game. Students had their eyes gently blindfolded and were given different mango products to smell. Amid giggles and excitement, they guessed the names of the products based on their scents. This sensory activity made learning fun and helped the students develop their sensory recognition skills.
The learning outcomes were significant. Students learned about mangoes' nutritional benefits, cultural importance, and variety of products. The sensory game enhanced their sense of smell and ability to identify scents. The event was a wonderful blend of education and enjoyment, leaving the children with a memorable experience. Kudos to Ms Jasmeet and Ms Puja for curating this.
