World Food Day
Classes Pre-Nursery and Nursery celebrated World Food Day with lots of enthusiasm! The children learned about the importance of a balanced diet through this interactive session highlighting the theme of 2024 'Foods for a better life and a better future'. Using a colorful food pyramid the teacher introduced different food groups like fats milk products vegetables, fruits and cereals . The children also explored spices learning how they add flavor and health benefits to our food!
To make the day more engaging, the teacher introduced the children to regional foods from different Indian states . The children learned about Punjabi cuisine Rajasthani dishes and a variety of North and South Indian foods . The learning facilitators even performed a small act where they spoke in different languages from Punjab, Rajasthan, and South India, making the experience even more fun and interactive! The kids were fascinated by the unique flavors and ingredients from each region.
Through this activity, the children learned the importance of eating a variety of foods and understood how spices and regional foods contribute to health . They also gained an appreciation for India’s cultural and culinary diversity building a foundation for healthy eating habits!
